Your view of Switzerland

We are so happy we booked our Swiss Holiday with your company. The itinerary was so comprehensive and all details given so we could not go wrong. The hotels in Montreux and Luzern were great and could not have been better. We were upgraded in Luzern which was very nice. I usually prepare our own itineraries but certainly could not have done that one nearly as well as yourselves. A lot of work went into the planning for us and everything went smoothly. A big thank you to all involved.

Your company quickly understood our requirements and looked into the feasibility of some of the train journeys that we wanted to take. We were reassured that the plan that we had outlined would work well. When we questioned the suitability of one of the hotels we were given a clear description of the hotel and decided we would be happy with it. It was good to speak to someone who had first hand knowledge of the accommodation.

We have had an excellent holiday with your company. This was our second visit to the Hotel Bernerhof in Kandersteg and once again it was excellent in every way. We can't recommend it highly enough. We last visited Saas Fee about 30 years ago and although there are now more hotels, bars, restaurants, and up market shops it is still a peaceful traffic free alpine village with superb walking and the free gondolas and cable cars are a real bonus.

We have stayed in other Sunstar hotels before so knew of their quality and service and were not disappointed with our stay at the Beausite, it is in a great central position with excellent management and great friendly and helpful staff, and with excellent food. We have travelled with the Swiss Holiday Company in the past so were sure of your expertise (...) and would hope to travel with you in the future.

All the travel arrangements worked perfectly, and we made full use of our Bernese Pass to explore the wonderful region. We just wanted to say a huge thank you for organising an amazing holiday for our family to Zermatt and St Moritz. The experience is one that will stay with us always. The scenery, people, hotels and food were all wonderful. I am just writing to thank you for our recent holiday that we booked with you. All the arrangements that you made were excellent for both travel and hotels. The two hotels that we stayed in were fantastic. The St Gotthard hotel in Basel was one of the best hotels that we have ever stayed in and the location, just literally across the road from the railway station was really convenient. The Wengener Hof hotel in Wengen was also an excellent place to stay and everything that they did for us was first class. Staff in both hotels were very friendly and helpful and could not do more to make our holiday a memorable experience. All the train arrangements that you made for us went really well, thank you for your efficiency.

Just a quick email to let you know how our trip to Interlaken went – wonderful!! We had great weather, great accommodation and excellent travel arrangements. Everything went like clockwork, especially the railway parts of the journey. We soon learned while we were there that you could set your watch by the Swiss Railway system! The hotel was excellent as was the food provided – almost gourmet standard I would imagine. The staff, from the cleaners to the Head of House were very friendly and accommodating. Nothing was too much trouble for any of them.

We have just returned from Montreux. Everything went smoothly.The hotel was lovely and you were right a lake view room was worth the extra money and we could not have been closer to the train station. We thoroughly enjoyed the trip to Rochers-de-Naye: the train went through thick cloud and emerged in bright sunlight. It was so beautiful there that we just sat on a seat for a couple of hours enjoying the view of mountains peeking through the white cloud, the peace and quiet and of course the warmth of the sun. A most enjoyable four days.

We return to Brunnen due to the flexibility of a lake steamer landing stage, mainline railway station and the local bus service, all made easier by use of the Swiss Pass. Our favourite trips usually encompass trains and buses - this year we pre booked a ride on the Rigi steam (only Sundays in August) railway at Vitznau. We had an very enjoyable steam ride up the mountain, spending lunch at the summit and back again to Vitznau. We then took the steamer to Beckenried, had a beer alongside the lake and then back to Brunnen landing in the middle of the village and only 50m to the Schmidt and Alfa Hotel. It is very easy to pre-plan excursions prior to leaving your own home.
