Travel by car to Switzerland
For your Swiss ski holiday
Driving to Switzerland via Eurotunnel is an excellent way to get to the slopes. The French and German motorways are generally a lot quieter than the UK and journey time from Calais to the Swiss border is around 8 – 9 hours. We will be happy to arrange an overnight stops if required and we are also able to provide the Swiss Vignette (motorway disc) at £35 which you will need when driving in Switzerland.
The road network within Switzerland is excellent and car free resorts have special parking arrangements. Most of our resorts have good road connections and many of our hotels have private parking.
Our travel arrangements are made with Eurotunnel, where we book a particular crossing for you and there will generally be a reduction of around £150 per person on our published prices which will more than cover the cost of the French motorway tolls of between £100 and £150 per car return and your petrol costs. We will confirm actual reductions at the time of booking.
Self drive holidays have the advantage of easy transport for your skis, boots and winter clothing. Winter tyres are required which, if you don’t have them already, will be a great bonus for your winter driving in the UK.
