Winter holidays in Davos Wiesen - Switzerland An unspoilt village with stunning views hidden away in the high Alps

Davos Wiesen is a delightful small village which is part of the wider Davos Klosters region. There are no ski runs from Wiesen itself so you will need to get the complimentary ski bus to Rinerhorn (10 mins) for the nearest ski runs or Davos itself (20 mins). This holiday will therefore not suit the skiers who wish to ski hard every day and be part of the action, but it offers a wonderful alternative to those who want to ski for a few days on the quieter slopes of the Rinerhorn, perhaps enjoying some picturesque winter walking and a stay in a most charming alpine village. Albula Sports is close to the Hotel Bellevue where you can hire your ski equipment. A gem of a resort hidden away in the high Alps.

Davos ski runs

The nearest ski area to Davos Wiesen is the Rinerhorn which is 10 minutes by bus. Davos Platz is a further 10 minutes from where you can take the cablecar to the Jakobshorn.
The other Davos Klosters ski areas can be reached from Davos.

Rinerhorn The free ski bus running through Davos brings you to the Rinerhorn in about ten minutes and a six seater gondola takes you up to Jatzmeder where there's a restaurant with large sun terrace. Ski lifts take you up to 2,435m and on top of one chair lift is a lively snow bar for some refreshments before you start your descent. A beautiful long, but comparatively easy run to the bottom. From Nullisch Grat at 2,490 metres there is a black run to the bottom for the more experienced skier. The 'Blockhütte' is a new après ski bar at bottom of the Rinerhorn.

Jakobshorn A cable car from Davos Platz takes you to the summit at 2,590m where there is a wide choice of runs above the tree line for all grades of skier together with four fast chair lifts. A fast two seater chair lift from the valley also offers an alternative access to this ski area. Bramabuel at 2,492m is reached by a  new chair lift and its runs connect with all other pistes on the mountain. Plenty of excellent mountain restaurants and ‘watering holes’ spread all over the mountain. The Jakobshorn is one of the most popular haunts for the snowboarders with a half-pipe available. The Jakobshorn can also be reached from Klosters by taking the train up to Davos Platz station which is right next to the Jakobshorn cable car.
