A very picturesque village which sits on a mountain terrace at 1,640m above the Lauterbrunnen valley. It’s completely car free as no roads lead to Mürren which is reached by cable car from Lauterbrunnen and the word 'unspoilt' is certainly no exaggeration for this charming spot. It has long been a popular resort due to its great charm combined with some long runs. The Schilthorn towers above Mürren at 2,970m and at its summit is the famous revolving restaurant which was featured in the James Bond film 'On Her Majesty’s Secret Service'.

The Inferno. one of the largest amateur ski races in the world takes place on the 22nd January 2011.

Lift passes are also valid for the slopes of Wengen and the little train in front of the Hotel Eiger takes you down to Lauterbrunnen where a cogwheel railway will then take you up to the Kleine Scheidegg.

Resort Facilities

Ski school Group lessons mornings Monday to Saturday. Private lessons available morning or afternoon and can be booked in advance. The ski kindergarten for children from age 4 operates same days.

Sports Centre Ice rinks for both skating & curling as well as indoor tennis & squash courts. Children's play room and a sauna.

Walking What's so nice with Mürren is there are 12km of winter walking trails. Paths can bring you to the restaurants also frequented by skiers so walkers can meet up with skiers at lunch time. A 'must' for non-skiers is a trip by cable car to the summit of the Schilthorn at 2,970m. What views!
